1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated as you use ElevatePay:

  • Identity & contact data — name, phone number, email, date of birth, and government identifiers (e.g. BVN, NIN) used for verification.
  • Financial data — wallet balances, transactions, card activity, and bill payments.
  • Device & usage data — device model, app version, IP address, and interactions used to keep the service secure and reliable.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and operate your account and process transactions.
  • To verify your identity and meet anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations.
  • To detect, prevent and investigate fraud and security incidents.
  • To provide support and send service communications.
  • To improve and develop our products.

3. Legal bases

We process personal data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, to pursue our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, and with your consent where required.

4. Sharing your information

We share data only as needed to run the service, including with:

  • Licensed financial partners and payment processors.
  • Identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers.
  • Licensed crypto custodians for digital-asset services.
  • Regulators and law-enforcement where legally required.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Data security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and continuous monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information. See our Security page for details.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as required to meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children

ElevatePay is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.
